Review- Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation

So in my quest for the perfect foundation, I decided the other day to try something different. After nearly a year of using Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, I decided that maybe I should venture out of my Bourjois rut. After seeing a few reviews online, I decided to try out Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid for myself. And I have to say that I'm rather impressed.

This is a picture of the product:

My face pre-foundation (please excuse my hair, I do that after my make-up):

As you can see, I have very pale skin, with a few red blotches. I usually go for something medium coverage with yellow tones in the palest shade to give me a flawless complexion. When I bought Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid I noticed that instead of my usual yellow toned foundation, this one seems to be more pink tones. I also noticed how lovely and creamy the texture was, which is ideal for my dry skin.

This is a picture of how much I used:

I use a foundation brush every single day, I find them so much easier to spread the product. After putting on the foundation I noticed that it was a slightly better shade for my skin than my Healthy Mix, both of which I purchased in the palest shade. I was also pleased that it was a little cheaper than my Bourjois foundation. It gave the same flawless effect, but I noticed that Dream Satin made my skin a little more dewy than Healthy Mix. I also love that it has a pump applicator, it's so much more hygienic and easier to control how much foundation you want.

This is what it looks like on:

Overall, I think that I prefer this to Healthy Mix simply because it gives my skin that dewy glow. Also, I love the texture of the foundation, it really feels like I'm not wearing any. Although, I am yet to find a foundation that really matches my skin tone. I was thinking about trying Infallible Brush, but not sure what it's like.

Another thing that I did was test the staying power, as I don't like to wear powder (I find it clogs my skin too much). Well, today was perfect, a typical windy day with spots of rain. Again, I must say that I'm very impressed with Dream Satin. I think it was definetely well worth the buy.

And that's all I'm updating for today :). I think tomorrow I may test mascaras, I have a lot of time on my hands.

My First Post :D

Just to say hi, and welcome to my blog :). This is my first ever post, may take me a while to get used to this :P. I've decided to blog about Instant Nail Effects by Barry M as my first post, just because its one of my beauty staples right now. I discovered it a while ago and I can't stop using it.

This is a picture of the product:

I decided that I was going to try it with another recent purchase of mine, which is the Barry M Nail Paint in no.289 Gold. I'm a little addicted to Barry M. This is a picture of the gold:

So I decided that after using one coat of the gold, it just wasn't enough. So I put 3 coats on my nail and allowed it to dry completely. I then put a layer of the Instant Nail Effects on top. I realised that you have to be a little careful not to overlap the Instant Nail Effects, and I found that sometimes the pattern wasn't quite cracked enough. I also added a top coat, as Instant Nail Effects dries matte on nails. Personally, I'd rather have the top coat, but if you like matte nail varnish then it also looks great without.

This is the overall result however, and I am very pleased with it:

And here is another picture of my thumbnail, which I like the pattern on :

I think it looks kinda like Leopard Print . Anyway, that's it for now, so I'll update soon and add even more nail effects colours and hopefully some make-up reviews tomorrow.
